Speaker: Dr. KC Santosh

Prof. KC Santosh, a highly accomplished AI expert, is the chair of the Department of Computer Science, University of South Dakota. He served the National Institutes of Health as a research fellow. Before that, he worked as a postdoctoral research scientist at the LORIA research centre, Universitè de Lorraine in direct collaboration with industrial partner, ITESOFT, France. He earned his PhD in Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence from INRIA Nancy Grand East Research Centre (France). With funding of over $1.3 million, including a $1 million grant from DEPSCOR (2023) for AI/ML capacity building at USD, he has authored 10 books and published over 240 peer-reviewed research articles. He is an associate editor of multiple prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on AI, Int. J of Machine Learning & Cybernetics, and Int. J of Pattern Recognition & Artificial Intelligence. To name a few, Prof. Santosh is the proud recipient of the Cutler Award for Teaching and Research Excellence (USD, 2021), the President's Research Excellence Award (USD, 2019) and the Ignite Award from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS, 2014). As the founder of AI programs at USD, he has taken significant strides to increase enrolment in the graduate program, resulting in over 3,000% growth in just three years. His leadership has helped build multiple inter-disciplinary AI/Data Science related academic programs, including collaborations with Biology, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Sustainability and Business Analytics departments. Talk 2: Knowledge acquisition from multimodal resources to actionable knowledge graphs

Speaker: Dr. Wajahat Ali Khan

University of Derby

Wajahat Ali Khan is Senior Lecturer at University of Derby, where he has been since 2020. During the period of 2011 till 2019, he did his PhD in Computer Engineering, worked as Postdoctoral Researcher and later Assistant Professor at Kyung Hee University, South Korea. He is also Senior IEEE Member, ACM Distinguished Speaker, and Royal Society Fellow. He is conducting research in knowledge graphs in aerospace and healthcare domains by working on decision support systems, interoperable systems, and data/expert driven systems. He has published more than 60 research articles in peer reviewed conferences and journals. He is actively involved in technical programme committees (TPC) member of over 20 IEEE, ACM and other international conferences, and is reviewer/ editor of over 10 distinguished journals.

Dr. Vinaytosh Mishra is an Associate Professor for Healthcare Management (Management, Digital Health, and Heath Analytics) at the College of Healthcare Management and Economics, Gulf Medical University, Ajman (UAE). Dr. Mishra has done his engineering and Ph.D. from the prestigious India Insititute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. He has more than 17 years of experience in industries like Healthcare, EdTech, Finance, and Information Technology. He is also a mentor for leading business incubators in India and UAE and a domain expert for AI implementation with Al Hathboor Bikal.ai, UAE. Dr. Vinaytosh Mishra has published in journals of international repute (ABDC/Scopus/SSCI) and served as an editorial board member of reputed journals such as Hospital Topics, Frontiers in Digital Health, and Abhigyan. He also has an international patent in the field of image processing and NLP-based innovative solution in healthcare. His research interests include Digital Transformation, Healthcare Management, Health Economics, Healthcare Supply Chains, Complex Adaptive Systems, Healthcare Systems, and Digital Health.

Dr Mabrouka Abuhmida

University of South Wales

Dr Mabrouka Abuhmida is the course leader of MSc/BSc Artificial Intelligence courses and is the research and innovation group leader for cybersecurity, informatics, and computer science. Dr Abuhmida is an experienced AI expert, particularly in the medical applications of deep learning techniques, and has a keen interest in the application of NLP in mental health. With a computer systems and electronics engineering background, she has worked on several multidisciplinary projects across various fields, such as environmental monitoring, health monitoring, and cybersecurity, using AI-related technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT).
